Between 1990 and 2008, 3.4 million people gained access to improved sanitation facilities. The number of people using improved drinking water sources increased by 5.5 million.

Cambodia is NOT on track to reach the MDG target for sanitation. With the current trend, the target will not be achieved before 2031.
