Serigne Mbaye Sy Diop
Since January 2005, Serigne Diop has been Managing Director of SATTAR, a private company in the Building/Construction sector. The company is among the top 5 in Senegal. Until August 2005, Serigne was Managing Director of ONAS (Senegalese National Office for Sanitation). The main activities of ONAS focus on providing sanitation facilities to the urban poor, operating and managing sewerage networks, urban sanitation and drainage. ONAS is in charge of hygiene promotion, developing school sanitation and a strategy for behaviour change through public private partnerships in Handwashing. Serigne Diop is the former Vice-President of the African Water Association (AWA), former National Coordinator of WSSCC, and was a member of the drafting committee of "Africasan" in Johannesburg. He was involved in the preparation of the WASH Global Forum in Dakar and is eager to develop the WASH concept, particularly in African Francophone regions.
