National WASH Coalition

Members of the Burkina Faso WASH coalition include WaterAid Burkina Faso, CREPA, Eau Vive, Green Cross, General Directorate for Water Resources (DGRE) within the Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Fisheries, University of Ouagadougou, the 2IE (ex EIER/ETSHER), West Africa Water Partnership (WAWP), National Water Utility (ONEA).

Focus

Advocacy among decision makers, and hygiene and sanitation promotion among the general public.

Milestone projects and main achievements

Since the national WASH campaign launch in 2003, activities aimed at achieving the MDGs by promotion of WASH.

Main activities were awareness activities on media, drama, sanitation weeks, celebration of World Water Days, environmental day, exhibitions and conferences.
