Members of the WASH Coalition
Since the national launch of the WASH Campaign in March 2005, the Campaign had fallen back into inactivity. With the decision, in 2007, to merge the two international campaigns End Water Poverty Now and WASH into one national CIEPA/WASH Campaign and Coalition, the visibility of the campaign, the topic and its stakeholders has grown extensively. Currently the campaign is managed by the 'CNP-CIEPA/WASH', the National Steering Committee for the International Campaign for Water, Sanitation and Hygiene. This Steering Committee contains a cross-section of the important civil society organisations active in water supply, sanitation and hygiene in Mali.
FocusThe main goal of the CIEPA/WASH Coalition is to influence the governmental policies and development partners to better understand the needs and interests of Mali's population with regards to WASH issues, through various advocacy and lobbying activities.
The large majority of Mali's poor does not have access to adequate water supply, sanitation and hygiene services.
