IFH and WSSCC produce 'Home Hygiene in Developing Countries'
resource
The International Scientific Forum on Home Hygiene (IFH)
and the Water Supply and Sanitation Collaborative Council
have joined hands to raise awareness of the importance of
hygiene, and develop programmes aimed at improving hygiene
practice at home and community level. As the first concrete
output of this partnership, IFH with support from WSSCC
has produced a teaching/self learning resource on hygiene
in developing country situations.
Entitled 'Home Hygiene in Developing Countries; Prevention
of infection in the home and peri-domestic setting', the
resource covers all aspects of home and peri-domestic hygiene,
and has been written in simple, practical language in order
to be understood by people from a diverse range of backgrounds,
who may have limited scientific or medical knowledge. This
training resource is intended primarily to give practical
support to teachers, community workers, community nurses
and other health professionals at local level who have responsibility
for developing school and community hygiene promotion programmes,
but can be used by anyone who needs to obtain an overview
of hygiene and hygiene practice.

To further promote the importance of home hygiene, to explain
its various components and to make people aware of the Home
Hygiene in Developing Countries resource guide, IFH and
WSSCC developed a flyer, to be used in conferences and exhibitions,
and any other promotional setting.
