The 2nd Children's World Water Forum held
in Mexico City, 16-22 March 2006 gathered more than 100
children from over 30 countries that brought their experiences
to the attention of government ministers and other participants
gathered for the 4th World Water Forum. The children also
discussed how young people are and can help the world reach
the targets laid out in the Millennium Development Goals.
In his opening remarks at the 2nd Children's World Water Forum
on March 16, 2006, the WSSCC Chair Roberto L. Lenton, urged
children, parents and teachers to make water, sanitation and
hygiene part of their daily lives and to influence others
in paying attention to these basic needs that could save thousands
of lives.
