UN to launch "Sustainable sanitation: the five year drive to 2015"

On 21 June in New York, the United Nations Secretary- General, Ban Ki-moon will officially call for a redoubling of efforts to achieve the MDG sanitation targets. In launching Sustainable sanitation: the five year drive to 2015, the Secretary-General is adding his voice to those in a range of sectors who have expressed concern about the slow progress towards ensuring that all people have access to basic sanitation and practice good hygiene.

L'ONU lance «l'Assainissement durable : campagne quinquennale jusqu’en 2015»

Le 21 juin, à New York, Ban Ki-moon, le Secrétaire général des Nations Unies, a officiellement engagé le monde à redoubler d’efforts afin d’atteindre la cible des OMD en matière d’assainissement. Lors du lancement de « L’assainissement durable à l’horizon 2015 », le Secrétaire général a rejoint les personnes de différents secteurs qui ont exprimé leur préoccupation au sujet des progrès lents visant à assurer un accès universel aux services d’assainissement de base et aux bonnes pratiques d’hygiène.

Eng. Ebele Okeke joins forces with WSSCC as a WASH Ambassador

Eng. Ebele Ofunneamaka Okeke, CFR, the former Nigerian Head of the Civil Service, has joined forces with the Water Supply and Sanitation Collaborative Council (WSSCC) to advocate for equity and dignity on behalf of the 2.6 billion people without a decent toilet to use and the nearly one billion without good quality drinking water close at hand.
