A Caribbean conference on integrating sanitation into national development plans emphasized the importance of making sure that solutions were affordable and urged the recycling of waste.
On 28 and 29 April
2008, the Caribbean Workshop on Sanitation (CARIBSAN 2008) was held to discuss
the main objectives of the International Year of Sanitation and to work towards
common goals regarding sanitation.
