Summary

Sarita and millions of other girls don’t have a private, safe place to attend to their sanitary needs at school. Where decent toilet facilities do not exist, some girls miss classes – particularly when they are menstruating. In contrast, adequate school sanitation that facilitates menstrual hygiene positively affects their daily learning opportunities and life-long prospects.
