Summary

The May 2011 News and Policy Update brings together a submission made to the Working Group for the 12th Five- Year Plan on Behaviour Change Communication in Sanitation and Hygiene, excerpts from the national consultation on pro-poor sanitation that was organized by the India WASH Forum in Dec 2010 and an interesting article on the status of knowledge and learning under consultant driven funding. Furthermore it provides an update on the status of the Global Sanitation Fund programme for India and SACOSAN IV in Sri Lanka.

In 2008 the India WASH Coalition became the India WASH Forum. The forum promotes research and documentation of WASH issues; supports technical programmes; and engages monitoring, evaluation, and advocacy (e.g. through media) to influence government policy.
