Summary

The National WASH Fair/Workshop was held on 21 and 22 July 2008 to discuss and firm up the National Road Map for the International Year of Sanitation in 2008. It also offered a forum for WASH stakeholders to meet and exchange their experiences and for the private sector to showcase some of the technologies being promoted in hygiene, sanitation, and household water treatment methods.

About the author

The Kenyan WASH Coalition merged with the Inter-Agency Coordination Committee in 2010. To meet the Millennium Development Goals (MGDs) for sanitation and water, the committee focuses on regional learning, strengthening partnerships, and sharing local experiences (particularly of youth). Its work with youth includes hygiene behaviour change programmes in schools (called participatory hygiene and sanitation transformation methodology, PHAST), and developing WASH guidelines for schools.
