This paper presents a practical case study of the Liberian WASH Consortium’s strategy, structure, funding sources, key achievements, and lessons learnt during the first year of collaboration. In 2007 to 2008, the Consortium established a coordination team, board structure, and working groups, increased funding, strengthened relations with government, improved coordination of WASH activities between central and county levels, involved and supported local NGOs and contractors, and increased access to water and sanitation.
