In 2007, the WASH Myanmar set a national value in hygiene, integrated sanitation in developmental activities, strengthened the national policy on sanitation, and worked towards changes in education. Some of the obstacles that have been encountered include limited understanding, local wisdom is sometimes not appreciated, investment on WASH is very expensive, and the coalition is often low in priority.
