WASH Myanmar is the country’s community-operated WASH promotion programme. Its activities have focused on the Four Cleans Festivals, the Global Handwashing and World Toilet Days, community-based arsenic mitigation, and total sanitation in project communities. It has concentrated particularly on home hygiene, strategic communication on climate change and disaster preparation, integrated water resources management, and school hygiene. It has produced books for the elderly and for children and primary students, both in the national language, and has secured prime-time TV coverage.
