Summary

The task forces are a mechanism whereby communities and civil society organizations get to represent themselves in local government processes. Composed of representatives from various stakeholders, a WASH Task Force within a local government unit works to make WASH service delivery more transparent and local governments more accountable.

The WASH Coalition Philipines – which has chapters in Mindanao, Visayas and Bicol – supports currently seven local WASH Task Forces in initiating a campaign for well maintained toilets and wash areas in public schools.
