Summary

This collection of photos reflects World Water Day celebrations throughout the country. Presentations were given to increase awareness and to educate participants on water and sanitation issues. Students recited poems, performed skits, built models, and participated in quiz competitions about water. Throughout the country, students and teachers staged the “World’s Longest Toilet Queue.”

About the author

Since 2003, the Pakistan WASH coalition has contributed to an exceptionally well-implemented WASH campaign through advocacy, coalition building and policy development on both national and provincial levels. The Coalition is also working on two cross-cutting themes: gender mainstreaming in urban squatter settlements, and the capacity-building of local government agencies for WASH. The Pakistan WASH Coalition works closely with the Ministry of Environment, provincial and local governments, international agencies, civil society organizations, and 166 partner schools across Pakistan.
