The Cambodia Rural Sanitation and Hygiene Improvement Programme (CR-SHIP) of GSF in Cambodia continues to move forward steadily. As a result, Plan International Cambodia as Executing Agency (EA) has been awarded grants in round one to seven sub-grantees in total USD 1,199,647 for two and three-year life span projects which aim to impact a total of 350,000 households in twelve districts in three provinces, namely Kampong Cham, Svay Rieng and Takeo.
The projects will be promoted actions to attain open defecation free situations and sustainable practices of the following three key hygiene behaviors: a) consistent use of latrines; b) hand washing with soap and c) drinking only safe water changed and sustained hygiene behaviors. The approaches will be used such as Community-Led Total Sanitation (CLTS); school WASH; Behaviour Change Communication (BCC) campaigns…etc.
The sub-grantees who were awarded funds in round one are national and international organizations in Cambodia such as SNV, Cesvi, RWC, Santi Sena, CFED, NAS & CHED.
