Madgascar was the first country to launch the The Global Sanitation Fund (GSF) in March 2010. The appointed Executive Agency, the international non-governmental organization Medical Care Development International (MCDI). MCDI will disburse approximately $5 million over the next five years. Since the launch, the Executing Agency has developed its procedural manuals and implementation plan. The next major milestone comes in November, when the EA will issue a call for proposals from organizations and groups that wish to be sub-grantees to do on-the-ground work.
