Origins and rationale of network
Initiated by development agencies sand water utility representatives to break an impasse in the debate over the role of the private sector in providing services to the poor. In January 2010 The Water Dialogues officially closed its operations at international level and the project effectively ended, while national programmes might continue.
Objectives
A set of multi-stakeholder dialogues on private sector participation in WASH, in selected countries, linked through an international process.
Key partner organizations
WaterAid, Consumers International, WASPOLA, DWAF, Philippine Centre for Water and Sanitation (PCWS), Uganda Water and Sanitation Network (UWASNET).
