Facilitates members in organising and developing networks on local, regional and national level, with use of the Dynamic Networking methodology. Facilitates members in making their project proposals bankable and in finding experts and donors for their projects. By end 2008 WfWP entered into a partnership with AKVO. This organisation designs AKVO.ORG website for the publication and fundraising of water and sanitation projects between € 5.000-€ 15.000, in collaboration with partners. Origins and rationale of network
The initiative for Women for Water Partnership started in 2002, and as officially launched in April 2004 at the 12th session of the UN Commission for Sustainable Development (CSD 12) in New York.
Objectives
International network of women’s organisations bridging the gaps between the internationally agreed principles for sustainable development and the day-to-day practice in water management and water and sanitation service delivery. WfWP facilitates members in making their project proposals bankable and in finding experts and donors for their projects. "
Key partner organizations
WfWP consists of 24 women’s organisations and networks in South America, the Caribbean, Africa, Asia and West- and Eastern Europe. Many of them are umbrella organisations.
