NR Management Consultants Pvt Ltd. India (NRMC), the Executing Agency (EA) for the Global Sanitation Fund programme in the country, reports great interest from potential GSF sub-grantees.
Just under 200 organizations responded by 5 July to NRMC's call for Expressions of Interest. The next steps in the process call for NRMC to short-list selected candidates, with the endorsement of the country's GSF Programme Coordinating Mechanism, and invite them to submit formal proposals.
Sub-grantees are expected to be selected and signed by the end of September 2011, with on-the-ground work in sanitation and hygiene-related promotion and marketing to commence in the States of Jharkhand and Assam shortly thereafter.
The Indian programme has targeted eight million people in the two states for sanitation and hygiene improvements.
