Grass-roots activists shared inspirational experiences on reducing female circumcision in Senegal, raising awareness of lesbian and transgender issues in Nepal and working for the dignity of sex workers in India at a special meeting at the United Nations headquarters in Geneva on Friday.

Lessons Learnt : Micro-financing Sanitation in Peri-Urban Malawi

Sanitation is often regarded to as the ugly distant cousin of Water Supply. Organizations, national governments and multi-lateral/bi-lateral agencies have attempted various approaches to close the sanitation gap and thus, hopefully, bringing millions of households closer to owning an improved latrine.
