The planning period is over, and now the Global Sanitation Fund programme is moving ahead with vigour in Malawi. The first Community-Led Total Sanitation (CLTS)-style triggering took place in Kalembo and Nsamala Traditional Authorities (TA), which are both in Balaka District.
The triggerings we
re done by two GSF programme sub-grantees in the country, Concern Universal and Training Support for Partners. Initially eight communities have been triggered and further communities will be triggered in the coming weeks, as the Sanitation Campaign spreads across the TA, and the District.
