Water and Sanitation Networking event on World Toilet Day

On the occasion of World Toilet Day, The Water Network has organized a Water and Sanitation Networking event at the Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology (EAWAG) on 19 November.

The event will bring together water and water-related professionals, both from the private and the public sectors, for an evening of informal networking.

The Water Network, based in Switzerland, is the first Knowledge Network for global water professionals to share best practices, collaborate and build sector intelligence. The network includes members from over 115 countries and is independent and free to join. 

The event will take place in Zurich, Switzerland from 18:00-21:00 pm. The event will be opened by Trudi Schifter, CEO TallyFox Social Technologies AG and Founder of The Water Network.

Keynote speakers are as follows:

  • Prof. Janet Hering, Director Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Research (Eawag)
  • Dr. Tove Larsen, Senior Research Associate, Eawag
  • Prof. Dr. Michael R. Hoffmann, California Institute of Technology - Winning Entry of the "Reinvent the Toilet" competition by the Gates Foundation
  • David Trouba, Programme Officer, Communications, Water Supply & Sanitation Collaborative Council (WSSCC)
  • Thomas Zeller, Co-Chair, Swiss Water Partnership and Former Co-Chair of The Water Initiative, SDC
