This manual assists and strengthens advocacy efforts of members of the Gender and Water Alliance and other "Gender Ambassadors" involved in advocating for greater attention to gender issues within the water sector. It illustrates key processes involved in advocating for gender equality in the water sector, and shares practical information about the skills and techniques used in lobbying, speech making, influencing conferences, and events.
The mission of the Gender and Water Alliance (GWA) is to promote women’s and men’s equitable access to and management of safe and adequate water, for domestic supply, sanitation, food security and environmental sustainability. GWA believes that equitable access to and control over water is a basic right for all, as well as a critical factor in promoting poverty eradication and sustainability. www.genderandwater.org
