Summary

Based on the firm conviction that community radio programming can help develop the capacities of communities in general; it is believed that Oral Testimony (OT) enhances the capacity of radio stations to listen to and to give voice to their communities. The manual explains the philosophy of OT and suggests a step-by-step approach for radio producers who may want to use the listener friendly and locally based radio format. OT captures every aspect of the people’s socio-cultural, socio-economic and political life and makes ‘hidden’ voices, contexts and content heard.
