This toolkit discusses gender representation and portrayal in and through the media. Written for organizations and individuals that target the media as part of their gender activism, the toolkit is in two sections: section one discusses the theory on gender and media advocacy. Section two is practical, from how to transform media through policy to how to get the issue on the agenda of media. Click here to access easy-to-use training modules on the topic.
The World Association for Christian Communication (WACC), an international ecumenical professional membership organization, promotes communication rights for social change. WACC’s key concerns are media diversity, equal and affordable access to communication and knowledge, media and gender justice, and the relationship between communication and power. It tackles these through advocacy, education, training, and the creation and sharing of knowledge. www.waccglobal.org
