Sanitation and Hygiene in Africa: Where do We Stand? - Analysis from the AfricaSan Conference, Kigali, Rwanda

Sanitation and Hygiene in Africa: Where do We Stand? takes stock of progress made by African countries through the AfricaSan process since 2008 and the progress needed to meet the MDG on sanitation by 2015 and beyond. This book addresses priorities which have been identified by African countries as the key elements which need to be addressed in order to accelerate progress.

Menstrual Hygiene in Schools in 2 countries of Francophone West Africa - Burkina Faso and Niger Case Studies in 2013

This report provides information on MHM practices in schools in Burkina Faso and Niger, selected as regionally representative case study countries by UNICEF WCA Regional Office. A comprehensive qualitative survey design characterized by descriptive features was employed in the study. The responses from 60 girls and care-givers in Burkina Faso and Niger provide interesting information on current MHM knowledge and practices.

Sanitation and reduced inequalities in South Asia - Briefing Note

This briefing paper highlights some of the complex factors relating to equitable access to sanitation in South Asia, by illustrating case studies from countries across the region. It analyses barriers to access through the lens of social, economic, political, geographic, environmental and administrative factors.

BRIEFING NOTE - Evidence to Policy: The Great WASH Yatra and WSSCC’s 3-Prong Approach to Menstrual Hygiene Management

In 2012, WSSCC designed and ran a Menstrual Hygiene Lab as part of the Great WASH Yatra that journeyed through five Indian states and 2,000km over 51 days. Twelve thousand girls and women took part in focus group discussions and WSSCC collected preliminary data from 747 participants. This document gives insight what the participants shared during the discussions and how the three-prong approach to MHM can help manage menstruation hygienically.

WSSCC Equity and Inclusion Training on Sanitation and Hygiene - Final Report

On Friday the 13th of September 2013, participants from different sectors in Central and West Africa came together in Dakar, Senegal for a two-day training on Equity and Inclusion in Sanitation and Hygiene, conducted by the Water Supply and Sanitation Collaborative Council (WSSCC). During these two days, participants were able to share experiences from their countries, build capacity on of Equity and Inclusion in WASH particularly on how to use these concepts in practice and to discuss the relevance of various approaches in their country and professional context.

Rapport - Hommage à la femme : la gestion de l'hygiène menstruelle

Le 8 mars 2013, un événement unique s'est tenu au Palais des Nations à Genève. Hommage à la femme : la gestion de l'hygiène menstruelle a été un événement unique non seulement parce qu'il portait très clairement sur les menstruations, mais aussi de par la diversité des participants qui sont venus de loin à l'occasion de la Journée internationale de la femme afin de parler pendant plusieurs heures d'un sujet qui reste tabou, de nos jours, dans les plus hautes sphères du financement et de la prise de décisions.

WSSCC Rapport Annuel 2012

Le rapport annuel du WSSCC est un compte rendu de nos activités et engagements au cours de l'année 2012. Les activités font partie du mandat de l'organisation afin d'améliorer l'accès pour les 2,5 milliards de personnes sans assainissement et les 780 millions de personnes privées d'eau potable. L'année derniere a été marquée par des améliorations dans la prestation du Fonds mondial pour l'assainissement et la nomination de Chris Williams en tant que Directeur exécutif du WSSCC en Octobre 2012.
