La Conférence sud asiatique sur l’assainissement aboutit à la Déclaration d’Islamabad

La septième édition de la Conférence sud asiatique sur l’assainissement (SACOSAN) s’est terminée à la mi-avril avec la Déclaration officielle d’Islamabad.

 

Le WSSCC est l’une des quatre agences d’appui externes qui soutiennent le groupe de travail international (ICWG) qui, de concert avec l’UNICEF, WaterAid et le Réseau d’action pour l’eau douce en Asie du Sud (FANSA), a soutenu les gouvernements de la région alors qu’ils rédigeaient la déclaration.

La Déclaration d’Islamabad réaffirme l’engagement envers les déclarations des six conférences SACOSAN précédentes et a mis l’accent sur la réponse aux défis de mise à échelle des services d’assainissement et d’hygiène pour tous, tout en en maintenant la qualité.

Le WSSCC a été ravi de participer pleinement à cet événement, soutenant l’apprentissage et le partage de l’ATPC, les réunions avec les membres du WSSCC, les consultations nationales pour faire entendre les voix des groupes les plus vulnérables et en faveur de leur autonomisation, et jouant un rôle officiel dans un certain nombre de séances plénières et d’événements parallèles.
