Vision, Mission, Purpose

The Water Supply and Sanitation Collaborative Council (WSSCC) is a global, multi-stakeholder membership and partnership-based organization that works at the local, national, regional and global levels to advance sanitation and hygiene for all, with a particular focus on poor, vulnerable and marginalized people, so that no one is left behind.  We see this as the basis for related achievements in health, education, gender equality, urbanization and climate change.

Our Vision is “By 2030, achieve access to adequate and equitable sanitation and hygiene for all and end open defecation, paying special attention to the needs of women and girls and those in vulnerable situations.”

Our Mission is “To effectively address the sanitation, hygiene and menstrual health gap; raise, catalyze and invest resources to accelerate delivery of sustainable sanitation and hygiene services for people with the highest burden and lowest ability to respond.”
