Art for Water & Sanitation Fund Raising Exhibit

News

A Fundraising Exhibt for Water and Sanitation will be held from 26 November to 6 December at the Lancaster Hotel in Manila. It is jointly organized by the WASH Coalition Philippines and the IDP Foundation (www.idp-foundation.com).

Ten Filipino artists, including Fernando Sena,  Mitch Doren, Jecky Alano, Boy Valino Jr, Max Sumuking Sr, and Roderick Macutay are participating in this exhibit to help rural poor areas in the Philippines gain access to water supply and sanitation.  Proceeds from the sale of paintings and sculptures will go to communities in the Kalinga province where IDP Foundation works. The communities will be trained to build simple, effective, and low-cost appropriate technologies for ensuring safe water and environmental sanitation. Even after the exhibit, paintings and sculptures could still be purchased with the proceeds from sales going to water and sanitation projects for communities in Kalinga and elsewhere.
