Cambodia Rural Sanitation and Hygiene Improvement Programme (CR-SHIP) calls for Expressions of Interest - Deadline is fast approaching!

News

Eighty two per cent of Cambodia’s 14 million people live in rural areas. Of these 11.5 million people, a similar percentage – 80% – lack access to improved sanitation. Through the Global Sanitation Fund (GSF) programme, launched earlier this year in Phnom Penh, WSSCC committed $5.09 million over the next five years to support sanitation improvement for poor people in the country via the Cambodia Rural Sanitation and Hygiene Improvement Programme (CR-SHIP).

The Executing Agency (EA), Plan International Cambodia, will disburse approximately $5.09 million over the next five years to sub-grantees for projects and programmes that raise awareness and create demand for sanitation.

This programme will be implemented across five provinces namely, Kampong Cham, Kampong Speu, Takeo, Kandal and Svay Rieng over a five-year period. Currently, Plan International Cambodia is seeking qualified partners (Sub-Grantees) to implement the following activities of the CR-SHIP programme: 1) Sanitation and Hygiene promotion in Kampong Speu, and Kandal provinces (Re call for large grant); and 2) Sanitation marketing in five provinces: Kampong Speu, Kampong Cham, Svay Rieng, Takeo and Kandal.
The focus of the Cambodia Rural Sanitation and Hygiene Improvement Programme (CR-SHIP), is predominantly rural communities in the plains and coastal regions of the country. The programme targets 200,000 households (roughly one million people) in 2,000 villages, 250 rural communes and 53 districts that have less than 50% sanitation coverage at the household level.
